Born in 1957 in Lugano, Mr. Bernardino Regazzoni holds a doctorate in Philosophy. He entered the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in 1988. Before taking office in Beijing in March 2019 as Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Mongolia, and to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, he was Ambassador in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Italy, and France. Ambassador Regazzoni is married and has 2 children.

Since September 2019 he is serving as Swiss Consul General in Hong Kong, with the consular district for the Special Administrative Regions Hong Kong and Macau.
